How to Switch Your Cat's Diet
While we would recommend a Lakes Collection diet for your
cat, care should be taken when changing your cat’s food. This should be done
gradually over 7-10 days to avoid any digestive upset.
Follow our simple steps:
- Day 1-3: Mix 25% new food with 75% current food.
- Day 4-6: Transition to 50% new food and 50%
current food.
- Day 7-9: Increase to 75% new food with 25% current
food.
- Day 10: Complete the switch to 100% new food.
Make sure you monitor your cat during this time for any changes in appetite or
digestion. Fresh water should always be provided, ideally in a separate
location from their food bowl as cats naturally prefer to drink away from their
eating area.
